How can you help?
We need your help to unlock the
mystery of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, so that all babies will be born
without these serious and often life threatening health conditions. What can you
contribute?
-
TIME: Be a volunteer. Help out at
one of our fundraising events,
contribute to our newsletter,
stuff envelopes... Let us know how you can contribute your time.
-
SERVICE: Does
your business provide a service that we could use? Printing of promotional
materials, installation of
wheelchair ramps, adaptation of bicycles...?
-
DONATION: All cash
donations will be gratefully accepted, and a charitable receipt will be
issued to you for tax purposes. Please mail your cheques to our
office.
If you have questions about what kind of
contribution you can make, please contact us.
Fundraising Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to work at our
upcoming casino in Calgary. The casino is our main avenue of fundraising,
and without it we would not be able to offer funding programs to our members.
Each member that wants to access the SBHASA
funding programs is required to complete volunteer hours -- this is your chance to
do yours. Joe Dzurilla will be contacting all members that have accessed funding
during the past year to find casino volunteers. Please check your schedule and be
ready to let Joe know when you can work.
Download the Casino Worker Application form
here.
It seems that the same members and their extended families
have been doing the lion’s share of volunteering over the last few casinos. It
is time for other members to step up to the plate and take some of the load off.
If we do not have enough volunteers, we will lose our casino and subsequently
will have to make cutbacks to our funding programs. We’re all counting on you!
Please pitch in and do your part!
The SBHASA also has coin collection cans to be used for
fundraising during the month of June, national Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus
Awareness Month. We are looking for members to place cans in local businesses.
Each can you place will count as 2 volunteer hours for your
family. Members are required to complete 5 volunteer hours each year in order to
be eligible for SBHASA funding programs.
If you are
interested in taking part in this fundraiser, please contact
Sherri by
